I work with Final Cut Pro X. Most YouTubers either work with Final Cut Pro X or with Adobe Premiere. I’ve worked with both. These two edit programs can do the same thing. The main difference I find is that Final Cut Pro X is more user friendly and much easier to learn, however, if you are into heavy color grading, something filmmakers do but YouTubers not much as it just takes too much time for what you get back for it, but if you do need this, than Adobe Premiere is better for that. I will explain the whole process of how “I MAKE A VIDEO” in Final Cut Pro X, and I will refer you to a video that explains how the mechanics of Adobe Premiere work so that you can make the same video in Adobe Premiere if you want.
For more than 3 years I’ve been daily editing videos and it’s been one long learning process. Even though I believe that these days all information you need is available for free on the internet, when I started out making videos, the only thing I wanted was to work together with a big YouTuber and see how he makes videos so that I could learn from that and create my own style. This never happened in the beginning because nobody wanted to show me around as I was not interesting for them. After my channel grew over 50.000 followers I started to meet many other YouTubers and do collaborations with them. I already had developed my own style, but seeing how other YouTubers worked by filming a video together and seeing how they edited their video, always opened up my eyes for new ways of working and changed my own style a little. Also, personally, I just like to know how others work to save myself time of trying things that they already know doesn’t work.
